Kistler Vineyard, Trenton Roadhouse

Originally constructed in 1920, the Trenton Roadhouse is now a private wine tasting venue for Kistler Vineyards – the first in the winery’s history.

The project challenged the design team to integrate rehabilitation and programming goals with Kistler’s unique identity and approach to vinification, to arrive at a design solution that was crisp, clean, honest, nuanced, and distinctive.  The rehabilitated farmhouse embodies the aesthetic of a chic winery by integrating extensive landscaping upgrades with architectural design that beckons guests to engage with the site, highlighting sweeping views of vine-covered hills, a stone paved-patio and fire pit, wisteria-covered pergola, and raised-bed vegetable garden.
