Channel Islands National Park

Comprised of five in a chain of eight southern
California islands near Los Angeles, Channel Islands National Park
consists of 249,354 acres, and includes the islands of San Miguel,
Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, Anacapa, and Santa Barbara. President Franklin
D. Roosevelt established the Channel Island National Monument in
1938. In 1980
the monument’s status was changed to Channel Islands National
Park.
ARG prepared Historic
Structure Reports (HSRs) for the nineteenth century, vernacular
Gothic-revival Vail & Vickers
Ranch House located on Santa Rosa Island, and the 1880s stone and
low-fired
brick Smugglers and Scorpion Ranch Houses, both located on Santa
Cruz Island. Upon
completion
of
the HSRs, ARG prepared construction documents for rehabilitation
of the ranch houses.
