As the largest preservation architecture firm in the San Francisco Bay Area, we believe our role is one of stewardship: the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one’s care. ARG promotes an integrated design process involving architectural design, sustainability, and preservation. We intentionally formed a full-service architectural practice rather than a preservation consulting firm to implement a design process involving architectural design, preservation, and sustainability.
ARG has received many awards for their contribution to architecture including Pasadena City Hall, a National Trust for Historic Preservation award winner; Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park, winner of an AIA 2005 Honor Award for Architecture; and several California Preservation Foundation awards for our work at the Alameda Theatre, Beringer Vineyards Rhine House, Krug Vineyards, The Huntington Art Gallery, and Cavallo Point - The Lodge at the Golden Gate.
